The radiographer jokingly said that the patient had syphilis and was contagious. The patient, who was a past high school classmate of the transporter, asked the transporter why he was putting on gloves, mask, and isolation gown to move her. The transporter told her that she had PID-syphilis, a communicable disease.
On the way back to the x-ray department, the transporter sent a note to another former classmate in central service department that the patient, had been admitted into the hospital with syphilis.
Meanwhile, the patient became very distressed and told her father what the transporter had said to her. The father immediately contacted her attending physician to find out whether his daughter had syphilis. The doctor told the father that it was a mistake. The father filed a civil suit against the hospital.

The floor nurse inserted the needle into the vein, and the patient was transported to the radiology department. In the radiology department, the contrast medium was injected by the technologist; however, the needle was not in the vein when the contrast was injected. This resulted in extravasation and serious damage to the tissue surrounding the vessel.
